wow that sounds fantastic! Local materials were always used in the past quite sensible really. I think his project sounds really interesting. I've been doing up a manor house in Lincolnshire and sourcing local materials on a low budget some are free and some cost a packet. The best way of getting local materials cheap is to find someone with a derelect farm building.
