Hi
apologies for not getting back to all those who've written until now-we have only just got back online after finding a home/moving etc etc....
so, as you may have guessed-we have bought a house! cant quite belive it really, we didnt have much of an option & really wanted somewhere that was our own, not rented etc.
although not ideal, we love it, it is our home, it has some garden and a fireplace.....and was build well in the 30's so we are content here untill we outgrow it!
though, sods law, about 2 weeks afer we bought the house some land came up for sale that i KNOW i would have got planning on, however, there would have been a covenant on it that it would only allowed for affordable housing for 'local' people...so it woulnt have been good for a communal self build.
HOWEVER, we still live the dream that someday we will be able to build our own place and have some land to tend, and, we love the idea of building / becoming part of a community. more and more now that we have the kids.....the lammas project looks amazing and ideal and we would love to be part of something like that from the beginning-my husband is a carpenter, i am an artist/maker, blacksmith & grower. so we are both very practical & creative, we would like to build a permaculture or forest garden around our home-we are doing so now but have very limited space!
so, yes, living a simple, natural life with an acre or 2, around like-minded people would be great!
we will continue to save for some land for the future-we do have 0ne or 2 friends who wish to do the same, so please keep posting/looking/saving too!
i shal stop my rambling now...
many thanks
